Responsive website relaunch for Tokyo based bar-restaurant Martiniburger.
Requirements for the website were the following:
- CMS based site for easy updates by the client.
- Support for bilingual English/Japanese content.
- Mobile friendly web design.
The support of mobile devices was identified as key to provide customers on the go to easily find access information, opening times and menu information or news about the restaurant.
After several design variations based on the existing brand colours and font selection the site was coded in HTML5 using a fluid-responsive web design approach. The site now flexibly adapts to desktop screens and iPhone /iPad (portrait and landscape mode). It also supports all upcoming in-between screen sizes though fluid layout and the navigation menu was enhanced for touch screens of mobile devices.
Furthermore the site makes use of embedded custom fonts in line with the styleguide specs. Additional support was provided with claiming of an already publicly created Google places map and the consolidation of duplicated Facebook pages.

This casual neighborhood spot serves up gourmet burgers, upscale diner fare and assorted vodka cocktails. They bill themselves a New York-style bar-restaurant, and accordingly the menu features tasty Brooklyn Lager on tap, the ubiquitous NY cheesecake, and a credible rendition of a chocolate egg cream – a soda-fountain favorite at New York diners.
