Redesign and relaunch of Pingmag, the legendary design & culture blog from Tokyo.

In Detail

Our brief included to refresh the design without losing too much of the original DNA. Additionally the new Pingmag is now a responsive website which is enjoyable on smartphones, tablets and up to large desktop monitors.

The English/Japanese bilingual site setup largely mirrors the previous site in order to keep all previous article links and images intact. Though we extended the layout with an immersive header image (or video), reorganised the navigation and site categories, added crisp typography styles in English and Japanese and easier commenting and sharing functionality. Additionally we implemented the functionality to post sponsored banners, either for whole channels (like PingArt) or individual posts.
