Design and web development of a campaign website for top ranking Japanese sportswear and running shoe brand ASICS.
ASICS is celebrating the 30 year anniversary of their famous GEL tech cushioning system for running shoes and marked the occasion with a contest and free give-aways of the latest GEL tech based running shoes fuzeX. To this end we were commissioned with design and web development of a campaign website. The contest involves to observe and count the amount of times the number 30 shows up in a Manga-inspired campaign video.
Website Design Concept
The overall campaign was also Manga-themed and included print, video and web media. Inline with this theme we developed a website layout inspired by the panels of a Manga comic book.
The website project included a pre-contest teaser versions, main contest website with contest form and a post-contest version. We also designed the email newsletter design and various web banners based on the same theme.
The Japanese-English bilingual HTML5 contest website was coded in mobile-friendly responsive web design and makes use of various playful parallax and page-scroll animations. The section about the GEL history of running shoes is most characteristic of the website design, apart from the unusual diagonal split-panel layout.
